Slimy Salamander

Southeast Ohio, 2006

The species is actually called the Slimy Salamander! This species has a gooey coating which you should avoid getting on your hands because it can leave a difficult to remove residue. I have lightly handled them without having this problem but it's still a good thing to keep in mind. Nonetheless a very pretty species with pale yellow or whitish flecks.
